Consultation Fees

Fees for consultations are guided by recommendations from the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

General Practitioners, Psychiatrists and Paediatricians are able to provide a Mental Health Care Plan for clients with certain Mental Health Issues.  This enables clients to receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (6 initial sessions and your referrer will assess if you are eligible for 4 more) Out-of-pocket fees are approximately $40 for consultations prior to 6pm weekdays and approximately $60 for consultations from 6pm onwards (weekdays).  Please note that appointments made to receive a Mental Health Care Plan with a GP, paediatrician and/or psychiatrist require a longer consultation than usual, and this should be mentioned when making an appointment with the aforementioned professionals.

If you are unable to claim via Medicare you may be able to claim via your private health fund if you have extras.  All health funds have different rebate schedules.

Cancellations

You will always be provided with a courtesy phone or SMS more than 24 hours prior to your appointment.  If you are unable to attend an appointment please provide as much notice as possible. Twenty-four hours notice of cancellation is required otherwise the regular consultation fee will be charged, due to the time allocated for your consultation. Failure to arrive for a scheduled session will also attract the regular consultation fee.
